Olivia Stenman
Material Engineer
I'm quite new to GKN Aerospace. For the last nine months I have been the team leader for the chemistry lab which has enabled me to start building my leadership skills. As this is my first job after graduating, it's really rewarding to be able to take on those responsibilities so quickly.
I think many people would be surprised by all the different career opportunities we can offer here. I Believe that if you are curious by nature, you have all the opportunities here to constantly developing yourself.
GKN Aerospace is a huge company and we do a lot of different things, which can seem a bit overwhelming at first, the scale and diversity of the work here becomes a really positive aspect of working here. It also opens up a lot of doors for people with different mindset and experiences which I think is an important key in order to make a difference as a company.
Developments within the aviation industry plays a really important role regarding the environment and our planet. It is of utmost importance that we constantly thriving to develop in a greener direction. Getting it right is vital.
David Elmdahl
Technology Manager
I've been part of the GKN Aerospace team for around 15 years now, initially joining in quite a technical role - as an aerodynamic engineer. I loved my work. It gave me the chance to put what I had learned at university in to practice.
Now, I work with technology management. I'm really excited about the work I'm involved in. Exploring new technology to identify what new innovation will enable us to stand out in the market and seeing that through from initial idea stage to delivery to the customer is really rewarding.
Another really important aspect of what we do is to utilise technology to make air travel more sustainable. I want my children and grandchildren to have the opportunity to travel the world, just like I have been able to do. Making aviation greener is incredibly important to me. I believe that it's a key tool in enabling people across the world to come together and share experiences, ideas and insights.
I think about my role and my professional development as part of wider team - one that stretches across the world. I feel like I'm part of something bigger.
Eric Birgersson
Manufacturing Product Engineer
I've worked in a number of different areas at GKN Aerospace, going all the way back to when I left high school. I was able to go on and complete a Degree in Industrial Economics. After that I re-joined as a logistic planner. Recently I have moved into the manufacturing, as a Product Manufacturing Engineer.
I'm excited that there are lots of opportunities within the company that I can pursue.
I believe that in many areas, such as additive manufacturing and the use of composite materials, we are leading the way. There is still a lot to do and I'm thrilled to be part of it.
You can expect to learn a lot very quickly. At times it can be a lot to get to grips with, but it's really exciting. You'll soon be involved in some pretty awesome processes - working with technologies that are much more advanced than a lot of other industries. We take pride in what we do, and we enjoy it!

Manager Manufacturing Engineer
I'm a Manufacturing Engineering Manager at our Trollhättan plant; I've worked here for just over 10 years. It's been a really rewarding experience. I've moved between different roles and that has enabled me to diversify and develop my skills.
Working with different people and teams has enabled me to learn a lot - about others and about myself. As my career has progressed, I've been able to focus on my leadership abilities. Whatever career path appeals to you, I believe that GKN Aerospace can provide it.
Our focus on sustainability is really important. It's a shared responsibility. Every company and every person should think about their impact on the world around us, and reducing the impact of aviation on the climate can make a huge difference. Challenging ourselves to be innovative in solving these issues is part of what makes working here so rewarding.
When you first start working at GKN Aerospace it can seem a little daunting, but exciting. There is a lot to learn and you quickly realise the attention to safety and quality - you need to be humble enough to welcome feedback on what you do.

The thing that stands out for me at GKN Aerospace is the talent that exists throughout the organisation - at all levels. I strongly believe that that is the key to the company's success, and that we are known in the industry for our people.
That has enabled me to learn from the best in the industry. I've developed new skills in my core professional area, but also had the opportunity to expand on this, focusing on areas like public affairs and business.
Looking forward, I think there are lots of opportunities. And my philosophy is that if you give talented people the freedom to express themselves then you can get the very best from them. I encourage people to take responsibility for their own development and I see real value in the different perspectives that people bring.
I recognise how much my own children have experienced through travel. I'd like to see a world where we can still enjoy travel and explore the world in a responsible way. The urge to travel is a human instinct. So our challenge is to be creative in fulfilling that.

Our locations in Sweden
Here in Sweden we have locations in Trollhättan and Gothenburg.
In Trollhättan we have a headquarter of Engines business, our biggest factory, Global Technology Centre and engineering office. We are also present in Mölndal (outside Gothenburg) and at Lindholmen, in the heart of vibrant Gothenburg business area.
